7 Memorable Scents At Ocean Park. Number 3 Will Make You Forget Your Sense Of Smell

There's just so much joy in visiting theme parks. The adrenaline rush, that sound of machine, steel on steel, the crazy acceleration and gravity defying moves. Agree?! I'm sure you do! Here are the unforgettable scents and sights At Ocean Park.

1. Have Your Picture Taken at the Entrance: SCENT NEUTRAL

That scent of excitement and giddiness!!! Brings out the kids in us.
Entrance Fee is HKD 340 per pax. Better to buy online so you need not queue. But there are kiosks in the entrance where you can just swipe your credit card for the ticket! I find this very convenient and easy. Plus, there are park assistants beside the terminal for any assistance.

There is also a money changer at the entrance. We did not have any HKD with us. And it is alright, since Tita Fe treated us for lunch and snacks!  Outside food is not allowed.

2. Enjoy the scent of sea breeze: SCENTSATIONAL

Deep Water Bay View from The Cable Car
On the way to South China Sea Side
It cannot be called Ocean Park if it weren't for the sea.  The Park is divided into two by a mountain, the Entrance Side where you have 3 themed areas and where the Grand Aquarium is located; and the attraction side, where all the rides, water show, mini zoo and other attractions are.  To get there, you have to ride either the cable car or the Train Express.

3.  Hair Raiser Ride at Thrill Mountain: SCENTSATIONAL
When I forgot my sense of smell
Before the ride with Tita Tata and Rayo
If you're a fan of roller coaster, then this is the ride to take. Remember to smile at the camera. The  camera is situated at the point where your hair is raised or when you're upside down. Watch this video if you want to understand why I forgot my sense of smell here.

4.  Chinese food in a theme park: SENSORIAL OVERLOAD

I find it very interesting to have noodles, dimsum and even Korean Spicy Grilled Squid!  This is a very unique experience.  There are also the main staples like burgers, fries, pizza and chicken. There is even a McDonald's inside for your quick fix of Big Mac and McNuggets.

Of sweet, spicy smell
With grilled note (minus the smokey note)
Of seafood scent

5.  Marine World: Abyss, The Dragon, Eagle, Veterinary Centre, Ferris Wheel: SCENT NEUTRAL

Marine World As Viewed from Veterinary Centre
The area boasts of the other death defying attractions. Make sure to tryout the following if you're into scary stuff.  The rest, you may just pass and head on directly to Veterinary Centre where you'll see the cute dolphins.

The Dragon Ride
This attraction is just like an ordinary roller coaster ride......until you hit that first huge drop while enjoying the scents and sights of South China Sea on your left. And the rest is like a crazy ride.  I still like Hair Raiser more than this one though.

Crazy Galleon
Very much like Anchors Away at Enchanted Kingdom. There's a huge ship that swings you back and forth until you feel your stomach leaving your consciousness. When you take this ride, I suggest you sit at either end of the ship. That's where the fun is.  Although, all-in-all, nothing too special if you've experienced similar attraction before.

Abyss
I am not a fan of free fall. Whenever I cliff jump in Boracay or Batangas, it takes me a couple of hours to condition myself to jump from the highest peak.  I can still remember that experience with Lex Luthor Drop Of Doom.  Naturally, I was cold, scared and nervous taking this ride.  And, man, I AM STILL NOT A FAN OF FREE FALL. NEVER WILL BE! LOL.

The Abyss
On our way to Adventure Land to ride the Mine Train, we passed by the Marine Mammal and Breeding Research Centre and you get to enjoy these cuties.  These two dolphins in the picture are actually mother and child. The child is the one under the water.

Cute Marine Mammals. I forgot their names. LOL

7. The Animals - Dolphins, Sea Lion, Red Bear, Panda, Gold Fish, Grand Aquarium: SCENTSATIONAL

One mission of the park is educate the visitors of the importance of the animals in our ecosystem, especially the importance of those inside the park.

From Adventure Land, you can walk your way to Pacific Pier. There is a series of escalators that will lead you all the way up.  There is no walkway unless you walk back to Marine World.

Cute Sealion. This could have been a perfect birthday gift!
So cute!!!! I swear. I think they are cuter than the wallaby. But, the giraffe is still the cutest.

You can walk your way back to the Rainforest and see the Red Bear and the Panda. Watch them eat!

You can ride the Train Express going back to the Park Entrance. Drop by the Grand Aquarium before going home.

  • MTR station is still under construction. You can take 629 or 629A bus.
  • There are shows at Ocean Theatre. You may check out the shows at the entrance. Queue early. Line can extend up to Ocean Park Tower.
  • There are other parts of the park where you can interact with animals.
